INSTRUCTIONS TO BOOK
1) Please click on the time slot for the date you wish to book below. This will open an email to me.
2) Inside the email, please include the total number of people in your family, your kids ages, and your contact info. You may also include a back up date if you would like to be considered for a back-up open slot.
3) From there I will reply and send you the booking agreement to finalize. Booking agreements must be finalized and the deposit paid within 30 hours of receiving to reserve the spot. After that time, the agreement automatically expires and the session slot will return to OPEN status for others to book.

What can we expect from a Mini Session?
Mini sessions with Jennifer Bowen Photography are shorter portrait sessions (20 minutes) and are offered only in the fall on specific dates at specific times in a set location. They are ideal for:
• Smaller families (less than 6 people - larger groups click here)
• Families with babies younger than walking age
• Families with teenagers
• Families with kids ages 5 and up
• Maternity portraits for the mom-to-be
Mini sessions may not be ideal for very shy toddlers who generally need more time to warm up, or families who just want a longer, more connected, lifestyle experience. They move so quickly that it doesn't allow for a more engaged experience and slow warm up time. That being said, Jennifer has been working with families for more than 16 years and toddlers of all temperaments, so its likely you will get some "smiling photos" inside of 20 minutes.
Jennifer highly recommends booking a full lifestyle session at your home (or a pretty outdoor location) for those more candid experiences where Jennifer gets to spend more time with you all. Those sessions typically need 45-65 min or so and are booked during week days in the fall between 9 AM and 2 PM.
What if I need to cancel my session?
The Session Reservation Fee (deposit) is non-refundable because we turn away others who want that time & date and spend time getting you reserved. If you need to reschedule, your deposit can be applied towards a future portrait booking *if scheduled and redeemed* within 90 days of your original session date (meaning the session itself must take place within 90 days). If there is another Mini Session date/time for the same season that is open, you can also move to that one. After 90 days, your deposit/session reservation fee can no longer be applied to future sessions.
Your sessions are all booked, do you have a waiting list?
After the sessions are booked up, Jennifer places all booking requests onto a waiting list. There are cancellations every single year since things do pop up last minute for families, and when a spot opens up, Jennifer will email everyone on the list and the first one that grabs it, gets it! In 2021, Jennifer had over 50 people on the waiting list and 3-4 last-minute cancellations (24-72 hours) that were filled right back up.
I receive ALL the final high res images with my session right?
The cost of the Mini Session package includes eight (8) high res files to keep, not all of the images from your session. However, you can opt to buy all of them if you wish. You will see that option in the agreement at the time of booking for a discounted rate, or you can decide after you see the images for retail pricing inside your gallery.
Within 8 days after your session, you will receive your online proofs presented in a web gallery, with approx 40-50 photos. The proofs are watermarked. However, the watermark comes OFF your included complimentary images (8) once you choose and download them -- as well as any additional images that you purchase ala carte. Your gallery is basically an online store, so you can buy what you would like from there.

Additional high res files (watermark free since you are buying the copyrights to use them as you wish) are $25 each, or 5 for $100.

You can also buy the entire set of images, physical prints or wall art, coffee table albums, or mini gift albums right from your online gallery. Pricing is included for each item in your gallery.
What is the turnaround time for our proofs?
We will post the edited proof images to your online gallery anywhere between 5-10 days (depending on the editing production backlog) and email you when they are ready to view. You choose your images and download them. When you open them on your computer, the watermark will be gone, and the image file will be a full-size, high res JPEG. The same applies to any other images you choose to add to your shopping cart and purchase.
Physical prints (like 5x7's), take about 2-3 days to print and ship from our professional lab.

No two family sessions will ever look exactly alike, even if taken in the same location at the same time. The position of the clouds & sun, the time of year, your unique personalities & ages of children, the clothing, the foliage that time of year -- all of these things vary at every single session which produces unique images to your own unique & beautiful family! You can expect my photo editing to look like what you see on this website: clean, bright, fairly color-saturated and my black and white photos to have deep contrast and some film grain.
